Who We Are

Lake Shore Baptist Church is an inclusive community of Christians in Waco, Texas, striving to discover, articulate, and embody the meaning of the Gospel in the world today. Since our founding, we have gathered for worship, study, fellowship, and service — welcoming all who seek a deeper connection with God and neighbor.

Our Story

  • 1986 Lake Shore Baptist Church began its partnership with Bread for the World, a faith-based advocacy organization working to end hunger and poverty. For two decades, the congregation has participated in the annual Offering of Letters, urging lawmakers to address the root causes of global hunger.
  • June 23, 2006 The church hosted an Offering of Letters event, covered by the Baptist Standard, highlighting the reality that two-thirds of the world's population lives in extreme poverty and calling for legislative action.
  • October 2009 Lake Shore Baptist Church celebrated its 50th Anniversary with a special edition of the Shorelines newsletter, marking five decades of ministry and community life in Waco.
